This is because 4S is available to show hearts and an a minor. &lt;BR/&gt;So with your hand at MP I would certainly have started with 4S -- so that partner is certain to know that I have hearts...&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;If P bids 5H over 4S then I will make a grand slam try with 5S, 5N, or 6D.
